M..i..double s...i...double s...i..double p...i!!! Return of 4eva was in Brooklyn, NY last night and the King Remembered in Time (K.R.I.T.) was in effect. Will try to post some of the videos later, but for now, check out some of the better pics.
There you are on a Thursday night, watching NBC's Community, in the midst of being mesmerized by Donald Glover's comedic genius. Almost instantly, you stop laughing as you hear this awesome beat on a Dwight Howard Adidas commercial. "Damn...who is behind this bangin' track," you say to yourself. Hmmm...that would be Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino. Comedy and rhyming in prime time, that is impressive. The track is titled "Freaks and Geeks" and is on Gambino's recent EP.
I love how he uses the background vocals to create a great sound, almost to the point that you forget about them being someone's voice and it blends right into the sound of the other instruments on the track. The fact that Gambino is credited with production on the EP makes me even happier. It seems that more and more of the talented artists are adept at both dropping a verse and tinkering with the beats.
Just an FYI, these ain't no joke rhymes. He is bringing it much, much harder. Click below to download the EP and take a listen for yourself!
I can listen to M.i's beats/background vocals all day long on this "Baby" track. You kinda want to bounce those shoulders a bit right around the 0:10 mark: "I ain't tryin' have a....Baaaaaaaaby!" Damn. Enough said.
Additionally, its always important to keep on that grind and make your money. Check the 2:00 mark and you'll understand why having a baby is not really going to work:
I know I met your mom, ya pops, and ya auntie
but I'm just tryin' to keep my bills up like Chauncey

Big K.R.I.T.'s latest album "Return of 4eva" is a soulful addition to any music lovers collection. With a handful of mind numbingly smooth tracks, do not be surprised if you end up keeping most of the album in your collection.
This King Remembered in Time (K.R.I.T.) hails from the South or more appropriately...the "3rd Coast." It appears like we will be seeing a lot more of him as Def Jam seems to have picked up an earlier album "K.R.I.T. Wuz Here" for re-release. Check out the links below for some of K.R.I.T.'s best tracks, his new album, a chopped up mixtape by DJ Choppaholic (amazing!), and his upcoming show at Southpaw in Brooklyn.
